The Alaskan tundra is a huge country. The picture looks southeast toward Fortress Mountain and Fortress Creek in the background. Sedna Creek flows at the base of the ridge on the left. The field crew have climbed about 600 feet above the stream bed, roughly 200 feet below the jagged peak at the western end of this series of unnamed ridges.
