One of the many careers that has supported (and gotten in the way of) my writing was the automotive parts, repair, and machine business. Our first location was on East Lowell Road in Tucson. The Alpha on the left belonged to one partner. The Triumph TR 3 on the right was mine. Patton's car, the nickname for the Morris Minor by the front door, belonged to my second partner. More than 40 years later, the guy behind Patton's wheel is still in the business, operating under another name and at another location.
